NerdWallet - “Phang’s Phinances”

As key creative partner of NerdWallet’s Sports Sponsorships program, my team collaborated with NBA, NFL and MLS to create hundreds of out of home, in stadium placements, custom events, photoshoots and branded films for social and digital.
Among our favorites was “Phang’s Phinances”. We were tasked to do “a lot with very little” – a production budget of less than $10,000, to execute something that played like a 30 second tv spot, but would live on the Subaru Park Jumbotron to kick off every game.
Nearside - “Pink Mahoghany”
Branded Documentary
“Pink Mahoghany” is the story of Chavalia Dunlap-Mwamba, the first African American female perfumer in the state of Texas. It was nominated for a Webby in the category of Best Branded Short Film in 2022.
This is one of eight “Small Business Spotlights” — a series of branded films that I was commissioned to produce & direct for Nearside, a fin-tech startup.
DoorDash x Shake Shack x Boyz II Men
TV Spot, Live Event, 360 Campaign
For Valentine’s Day 2021, I creative produced a Boyz II Men concert and brand activation for DoorDash, in partnership with Shake Shack — called “Love Delivered” .
Love Delivered was a full-length concert that live-streamed on Twitch, Meta and IG, plus a series of short commercials, exclusive milkshakes by Shake Shack, and romantic Valentine’s Day gift boxes to accompany the shake on DoorDash.

In 2020, DoorDash was growing exponentially and new restaurants were joining the marketplace every week. Each restaurant wanted to raise awareness of their availability on the platform and we needed a quick solution to keep up with the demanding growth.
So we created Magic Table — a mix and match TV template that showcased DoorDash’s varied selection, highlighted the newest restaurant available, and offered a sweet deal to celebrate their arrival. The work successfully scaled DoorDash’s ability to produce national TV commercials within extremely fast production windows and kept restaurant partners happy.
DoorDash x Chase - “A Night Off”

At DoorDash, we launched our very first national DashPass campaign in partnership with Chase, featuring a 30 and 15-second TV commercial.
The spot features a kitchen that comes to life, (literally) speaking to the benefits of the DashPass subscription and the Chase Freedom card partnership—which offers DashPass for 3 months free. The full-funnel campaign was launched in 2 phases (a teaser series followed by the main TVC) and featured creative spanning paid social, PR, and broadcast TV.

An estimated 127.7 million viewers tuned in for Super Bowl LIX. As a first-time Super Bowl advertiser with a :30 spot in the 3rd quarter, NerdWallet's job was simple - cut through the noise with a breath of crisp North American sea air, and an invitation to let NerdWallet do the work for you when it comes to your finances. Starring Kieran Culkin as the Beluga.
In addition to the TV campaign, our team created a 360 digital, social and radio campaign to support its rollout for the full year following the premiere.

86% of Americans say there is some financial action they wish they would’ve taken sooner in life.
NerdWallet’s TV spot aired on December 25th, 2023 during the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs VS Las Vegas Raiders game and during two NBA games, Philadelphia 76ers VS Miami Heat and Denver Nuggets VS Golden State Warriors. Then continued its run across broadcast, OTT digital and social channels.
